Growth is part of the Elite Dynamics ethos. Everything we do is with the intent to develop our company, our people, and the businesses we serve. Leadership propels this advancement. To keep our leadership acumen sharp, we seek lessons from influential people. Jack Welch, who was once a frontrunner at General Electric, has some meaningful insights.
For example, trust is an essential component of successful leadership. As Welch says, “Trust happens when leaders are transparent, candid, and keep their word.” Our managers demonstrate these qualities by communicating their expectations openly and honestly. They are also available to answer questions and share feedback as needed.
According to Welch, great leaders are also great decision makers. They consider all available information, and rely on their instincts as needed, to make sound choices – which may not always be popular. With trust firmly in place, however, people have faith in their leaders and their decisions.
Questions and curiosity are encouraged in the Elite Dynamics culture. We learned from Welch that, “When you’re a leader, your job is to have all the questions. You have to be incredibly comfortable looking like the dumbest person in the room. Every conversation you have about a decision, a proposal, or a piece of market information has to be filled with you saying, ‘What if?’ and ‘Why not?’ and ‘How come?’”
As Welch inspires our leadership development, we reach higher levels of excellence.
