• Don’t Rush the Connection: Deep, lasting connections take time and effort to build, so don’t expect that meeting someone once is sufficient. It’s just the start. Instead, take the time necessary to follow up, go out to lunch, work on volunteer projects together, and get to know each other. • Enjoy Meeting New People: Sure, your network will help you professionally, but you should approach meeting people with that as an afterthought. Instead, enjoy meeting new and interesting individuals and think about what you can do to help them.
